I have been tracking the mod since first release, and this update looks really awesome but it all sudden I cant play it because it freeze before I pick the team after loading, without any error message or anything... just simply freeze

I used to have this problem with The Hidden source mod sometimes

Hello,

Try the following:

Extract the file from the attached ZIP and place it in your "overwatch\cfg" folder (usually somewhere like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\overwatch\cfg).

Once that's done, launch the game and try to join a server. When (and if) it freezes, exit the game, then go back to your root "overwatch" folder. You'll find a condump0.txt file.

Grab that + the following files (also found in your root "overwatch" folder):
- installer.log (if you installed Overwatch from the installer .exe),
- updater.conf
- updater.log
- updater.log.1 (if found)
- updater.log.2 (if found)
- updater_errors.log

Send them all to me and I'll take a look!

Hi again,

Nothing's showing up in the logs. I'm not quite sure what could be causing it. Let's try a few things to see if we can figure it out.

For starters, can you try loading a map locally? Just use the Create Server button on the main menu. Let me know if you manage to reach the level.

Yeah I did try that too but the same problem, after finish loading then the screen freeze and I can't click anything
only way to turn the mod off is by using task manager and end hl2 process

I uploaded new condump0.txt
after I created server

Hmm, that's not showing much either.

Let's try something else: open your Steam games library, go to View > Tools, then run Source SDK Base 2007.

Try loading a map in there. Does it work?

It works just fine

In that case, can you try reinstalling Overwatch completely?

Before you reinstall, delete the entire "overwatch" folder from SourceMods. Make sure you have the latest installer downloaded from here or ModDB.

Hmm, I have an idea.

Go to your "overwatch" folder, find the motd.txt file and delete it. Then try again!

Ok I deleted it and it did remove the text in motd but it didn't disable it, atleast I know motd is a part of the problem im having
because I tried to check Latest News and [Credits] , they both makes the mod freeze

problem solved!

I searched for people who were having the same problem with motd freeze in other mods, It was Internet Download Manager fault
some how it makes motd crash and freeze the mod.

Thank you Andy for your support and tracking down the issue! :D
