What are your system specifications? Mine are:

Intel Core 2 Duo 1,87gHz
1 Gb ram
Nvidea Geforce 9500 GT
250 gB Hard Drive
One monitor

Only thing that really stands out is the videocard

That's my baby! I co-built her 3 years ago and she still runs like new.

I also own a 17" MacBook Pro, released February last year.

By the way, RAM is super cheap these days since they're being overstocked. If you need more RAM, now's the best time to buy it.

Conversely, now's the worst time to buy a new hard drive (just when I needed one too ).

How do you know this?

I'd like to upgrade to 8Gb of DDR3 but that would mean a new motherboard, which means a new processor. Expensive.
