I don't see why people are so against legs. It sounds as if you'd gladly cut off your own O_o

I for one think it would be nice as the only FPS I've seen in a looong while that lets you see your legs is of course halo. It would be nice for a change. Shadows would be good too, if they're possible.

Is there any kind of leveling/upgrade system?

I think it would be awesome for both sides(especially RTS) if there were Tech trees and such. Just add that extra layer to the game.

I just don't care about seeing my legs. It has no effect on gameplay whatsoever, and therefore to me is completely unimportant and a waste of time that could better be spent developing something that is actually interesting such as gameplay, or maps.

Also, I'm not that attached to my legs. I've been thinking about just getting metal legs, it's risky, but it'd be worth it.

Yeah an upgrade and class type system for the players that works in a campaign rotation kind of thing would be really sweet. Upgrades for the OW of course would be great as well.

Yes and no, if there were more/better weapons yes. But else no, hl2 weapons just don't feel right doing ironsights. (if you know what I mean)

A few things from playing today that haven't been mentioned yet I don't believe.

Being able to see the red cross through walls. (This may impact balance, understandable if its not something that is wanted.)

More dynamic stuff, Each round is almost always the same.

More content in general, namely more enemy units, more items for the rebels. (I know that its coming but still!)

Better AI for the NPC's, trying to get 4 of them through a door and stuff is very frustrating sometimes.

When the RTS player is drag-selecting units have the selection box overlay the world with a splash of color and highlight the NPC's that you are about to select, much like windows does. http://i.imgur.com/isURb.png

Oh, and give us the fdg!

I agree that an upgrade system would be nice, something like in Natural Selection.

i think almost all of the abilities are being focused on the rts side. Why don't we just have something like the perk system in killing floor. That seems like it would work well. It would probably be short term or cause some difficulties but i think you guys could add something like that. (does this count as a small suggestion?)

Expanding on the idea of a level up system, it would be really sweet if down the road there was some sort of campaign system.

You start say a three map campaign, and the OW will be the same for every round. Everybody levels up and gets XP for different things. Revive a bunch of people? Here's a faster revive, or a revive with more HP. Kill a bunch of players with your shotgun squads? Larger spawn amount, or reduced cooldown, etc. I think it'd be a really interesting type of gameplay.

Draddollar's idea sounds very good and might be nice to see it tried out.

I was also thinking of maybe a Lost Planet 2 type upgrade system for your weapons.

Basicly you had all your basic weapons which you went round the map finding. For example the Machine gun. But if you leveled up or got enough credits you could buy a replacment like the Gun sword. You can then choose whether to have the gun sword or the Machine gun.

I'll then take this into Half Life. You have your SMG, good. Maybe, taking part of BradDollar's idea, you get alot of kills with your SMG, then you unlock the AR2 which you can choose to use. The advantages/disadvantages of both weapons would keep the gameplay balanced I think, such as the SMG has more ammo but the AR2 is more powerful.
This also means an SMG on the battlefield would then appear as an AR2 to you but an SMG to others.

This system would be quite interesting to see. I also have a list of weapon replacements

Crowbar > Riot Shield
Pistol > 357
SMG > AR2
Shotgun > ???
Crossbow > Sniper rifle maybe?
Grenade > Bugbait

As for the RPG you would still have to find this as it would be bad if players got an RPG everytime they spawned.

I was thinking adding ESP to the overwatch, it's annoying when people run in under something and just becomes invisible, and this way you can easier detect who's dead and who's alive.

Definitely, Maybe make it L4D style where you cannot see the glow when they are moving very slowly.

here is a pro to it
Pro:
It enables easier mapping since the mapper has less to think about.

I'm not sure if I like the idea of leveling up. It might be worth looking into an "attributes" system like Twitwi suggested in his feedback thread. Sort of like perks in CoD, I guess, except you can only have one at a time: revive faster, hack faster, pick up two grenades from the ground, etc. After every few rounds you'd be allowed to pick a new one, or something like that.

Also, this next suggestion concerns the scanners from earlier. Does anyone remember how during the last few chapters of HL2, a lot of scanners tend to follow the striders, floating into buildings around them? It would be cool if there was some benefit to keeping striders and scanners close to each other, like a small damage or accuracy bonus.

there is a steam game i have called plain sight. The idea of the game is that your a robot with a katana and you have to kill the other robots for energy. I won't explain in detail but when you die you see a screen to put upgrades on your robot. Every new game though your attributes are gone. Basically i think something like this could be done in place of perks I guess (no not Call of duty perks, killing floor perks)
