Any reason you guys don't use custom weapon animations, sounds, or new player hands models? Since you guys are Resistance players, why not add a Rebel hands skin from GameBanana or make your own to throw into Overwatch?

As well as custom weapon animations, a new SMG or Pistol, or a new AR2 would be nice.

Just helps create a unique feel and more than "a Half-Life 2 RTS/FPS mod"

I mean, you got the riot shield. You got the stunstick. You got the medkit. Take it further. You know?

We have intentionally restricted ourselves to only using assets from Half-Life 2, focusing entirely on developing Overwatch's gameplay and game mechanics. This has allowed us to discuss, implement and test tons of features in very short periods of time. As our primary goal is to build a feature-rich, highly polished game and release frequent updates that our community will enjoy, we will continue to use assets from the Half-Life 2 universe as we move forward.

However, we are aware of the immense potential Overwatch's gameplay would offer without such limitations and how a unique setting, combined with brand new sets of units and abilities, would be a whole lot of fun. We definitely have a plan in motion that we hope to unveil to you in the very near future.
We stuck to that first part, and it worked well. As for the second part, *hint* v2 */hint*. :)

It's all part of the Master Plan™.

Typical mods will be in development for over 5 years.

Are you saying your mod is just another typical mod out there? That we shouldn't want to have a special place in our hearts and in the world of Source engine modifications?

Hahaha. Just saying that it's a long process and that Rick should try to be a bit more patient with us.

I'm losing my patience because pretty much all of my mods haven't had updates in >6 months(Besides the beta-testing for Jokers mod). I also think some essentials from the dev should be in the client by now(Alltalk).

Unfortunately, losing your patience isn't going to make us work faster. It's not that we don't want to; we're already working as fast/hard as we can. The best way to help us is to be supportive and to continue posting your thoughts in our feedback threads. Trust me, it'll be worth it. :)

Not quite sure I understand what you mean. If you're talking about the "Alltalk" function on the servers, it should be enabled on all -Dev servers and on one out of every two non-Dev servers.

I haven't seen it on any non-dev server.

Seems you're right. I think I changed them after we released -Dev to the public. I'll enable AllTalk on all *02 servers.
