Hello there!
You've probably noticed me running around with the nice little title of "Community Liaison" for some time now. Those of you with enough interest have probably wondered, "What's that?!" Well, let me break it down for you...
Now, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that each and every one of you reading this thread has, at some point or another, seen AndY leaping about the forum posting the latest Overwatch News, the most recent Progress Report, or scheduling another Ask the Devs! session. You name it, he does it all!
That's where I come in! For the past month or so, I've been training up for the position of Community Liaison, by listening in on important development meetings, re-learning the English language, playing super secret double-agent, excetera. All the fun stuff! Don't get me wrong, it's not all fun and games; I half-expect to have an aneurysm in the coming weeks. To let you know just how I feel right now, here's a list of some of my upcoming duties:
As Community Liaison (CL), I will be responsible for:
- Posting Overwatch News
- Preparing Progress Reports
- Coordinating Ask the Devs! sessions
- Announcing Overwatch Releases and Updates
- Moderating the Community Forum
- Scheduling Community Playtimes
- Handling Bug Reports
- Providing Community Support (including mapping queries)
- Keeping the development team informed on Community Discussions
In short, I act as a two-way bridge between the community and the development team.
And now, it's time for my first official act as Community Liaison!
As you may or may not know, it's almost time for another Overwatch Progress Report.
What's a Progress Report, you say? In short, Progress Reports outline important information about upcoming releases and the overall development of Overwatch. Most importantly, Progress Reports keep us, the community, up-to-date with the future of Overwatch. Of course, none of this would be possible without you, and that's why we'd like to hear your opinion.
That's right! Help us improve the quality of our Progress Reports by telling us what you like, dislike and would like to see in future reports. Help us, help you! We're open to all suggestions, so feel free to go absolutely wild in the comments below.
For more information regarding these reports, refer to this Blog entry. All previous reports can be viewed in this forum section.
Thanks for reading!
