People can either vote your post up or down. Depending how many votes you have and in which direction, is what your reputation will be.

Does rating as post up or down have the ability to close threads? Another forums i sort of use has that feature, and thus the community moderates itself. Enough people downvote the original poster, thread closed and everybody moves on.
Also, the limit on how many times I can "up vote" during a day is very annoying.

I know you can set it to automatically hide posts from people with very low reputation.
Another thing it does is, if you reach a certain number, it marks the post as "Popular".
I'll look into increasing that limit Brad.
