[Patch 1.2.2] Released (September 17, 2010)

Patch 1.2.2 is the first patch update for Overwatch 1.2.0. It includes the fixes from 1.2.1, some tweaks to both maps and (we hope) balance improvements in Breach.

DOWNLOAD

Already have Overwatch installed? You can use the included Updater Utility to update to the latest version with only the click of a button! Click here for more information and for instructions.

Note: The Updater doesn't currently display a progress bar when downloading files. If you don't see anything happening, don't worry! It's downloading the package, which could take a bit of time depending on the speed of your Internet connection. Just let it go, grab a cookie, and it'll be done before you know it!

  • Game (Server)
    • General
      • [Bug Fix] Fixed a rare case where Manhacks being deployed by Metrocops could cause a server crash.
      • [Bug Fix] Fixed rare issue that would cause the GM's panning movement to be inaccurate.
  • Game (Client/Server)
    • Map: ow_breach
      • [Overwatch] Fixed unit spawn buttons near the rebel "escape" objective that were on separate cooldowns. They now all share the same global cooldown period.
      • [Objectives] Fixed final (4th) area not picking a random (console) objective out of the three (3) available.
      • [Objectives] Improved the ending by moving the trigger a bit further and adding a "To be continued.." message displayed to all players.
      • [Balance] Increased the number of Combine units spawned with 5, 6 and 7 live players from 4/5/5 to 5/6/7 (respectively).
      • [Balance] Removed SMG1 grenades.
      • [Layout] Removed a useless force field in the train station.
    • Map: ow_citadel
      • [Balance] The number of initially spawned Metrocops will now scale according to the number of players on the server, as opposed to the number of players on the Resistance team.
      • [Misc] The rappelling Metrocops spawned near the center of the map now face towards the center when they land.

That was a bug? I thought you guys did that on purpose :question: . I kinda liked it. It's what made that part kinda exciting.

[Balance] Removed SMG1 grenades.

I only saw them use it once :crybaby:

Just to be clear, the SMG1 grenades were removed from the Resistance — the Combine never had them. It was possible to take down large groups of Combine using the grenades, making the map way too easy for the Resistance when they used them well. Both teams still have the normal frag grenades.
