ModDB allows you to use non alpha numeric characters in your screen name, but the website does not support that function for example my screen name at ModDB is |.:aLn:.| Outbreak and that is what I put in my profile, but it has removed all of the characters and now displays as aLnOutbreak. Was not sure if this had been noticed yet.

edit: If I click the user name it still takes me to my profile, so it is saving the full user name somewhere but is just not displaying it.

I actually changed that manually.

The problem is, your screen name on ModDB may be |.:aLn:.| Outbreak, but the link to your profile is http://www.moddb.com...ers/aLnOutbreak -- ModDB basically removes special characters when formatting your profile link.

At the moment, there's no way for our board to be able to detect that. We're working with ModDB on implementing something that would, but it'll be another little while before it's ready.

So will Desura/ModDB accounts eventually be somehow linked to the user accounts on this website?

Yep, that's what we're working on.

I see, If that is the case I wouldn't worry about it, I just never noticed that it even showed a username in the link, but it does and it is with alphanumeric characters only so that doesnt even seem like a problem, I was just concerned that it might overlap if you had like jose11|-***-| and then just jose11.
