Profile Customisation Breaks Skin

Setting a Custom Background colour from Edit Profile > Profile Customisation > Background Color appears to set a maximum width to the profile, rather than it always stretching all the way to the edge of the screen like it is without the custom colour. It also changes the colour of a background gradient that goes across the top with the Community Rules and RSS links and the background behind the profile boxes to an a lot brighter grey.
