What should we call the Overwatch player (...

It's funny to see everyone calling the player in the Overwatch team by different names and abbreviations since there's no official name for him, only for the team he's in. Internally we've been calling him the GM (Game Master) from the beginning but he's never referred as such in-game (though some map entities refer to GM). I've seen him being called Overwatch, Overwatch Commander, Overwatch Master, the RTS player, and possibly something I forgot. I posted this here instead of in feedback requests, because it's just an informal nickname that players would be calling him, not something to be actually implemented in the game. So, anyone got any better ideas? I'm personally still in favor of GM, but maybe you can make me change my mind.

GM works for me.
I generally just use the Overwatch or OW for short.

I just call him the "Overwatch".
"Dude! The Overwatch is busting our balls!"
"Dude! The Overwatch is busting our balls!"

Overwatch Master, simple
OM for short,
kinda like a homage to Zombie Master

Personally, I think that simply calling them the "Overwatch" would be cool, since, after all, the mod is just called "Overwatch".

I've always thought of the mod's title as being a reference to the RTS side of things, so I'd go with either Overwatch as the semi-formal name. Or perhaps "the Dispatcher," after the voice from HL2, since it fits in with the gameplay.

The team is called Overwatch, but that refers to everything in the team, including the NPCs, which is why I don't like calling the player alone the Overwatch. But yeah it works, and I guess it won't matter if he gets called by multiple names.

I like both of those. "The Dispatcher" is good if you don't want to confuse them with the team itself.

Oh, if that's the case, I'm partial to that "OM" suggestion. That sounds cute.

Lol, so many names for the Overwatch. My guess would just be to call him "The Overwatch" instead of Overwatch Commander, it just gives it a little more feeling to it.

The problem with Overwatch is that it's a cool name but it doesn't sound right when referring to an individual, plus it doesn't have a shorthand version that rolls off the tongue like "GM". So I still prefer GM

Yea, I really like the OW. It's simple, easy, and it makes sense. That's what I'm saying from now on.

You will have to forgive BMT and his not so British accent
For him OW does not roll off the tongue. I'm going with "Oh Dub" to be lame.
