In an effort to keep IA!'s development progress as transparent to our community as possible, we've just unveiled a brand new blog for Intruder Alert! in the Blog section of our Community site, where we'll be posting Spotlights, Progress Reports and other topics!

If you're interested in a firsthand look at what we're working on, we encourage you to Follow that blog to be notified of new entries. We'll also be using this thread as one more way to let you know of new posts.

There's plenty we want to share with you over the course of IA!'s development, so be sure to check back often!

Spotlights are one of the ways we'll be sharing information with our community and giving them an insider's look at our work. In our frequent Spotlight blog entries, we'll be introducing the team, our development process and (most importantly) many of the great features we're building into our games and tools.

Since the start of the new year, we've been putting in quite a bit of effort into IA!'s look, as we work towards our next major milestone.

In our first media-packed Spotlight/Development entry (Spotlight: Designing Art for IA!'s First Environment), we explore the process we followed to design the art for IA!'s first environment: a secret lair built inside a volcano!

In our second Spotlight/Development entry (Spotlight: Designing Art for IA!'s First Environment (Part Two)) and following up on the first, IA!'s art lead David "Kitto" S. explores in finer detail the process his team follows while creating the many assets for IA!'s first environment.

One of our primary goals is to create a unique world for Intruder Alert!, a world which will come to life in the many official and community-made levels built specifically for IA!. Sounds (whether they be ambient, foley or miscellaneous effects) obviously play a very big role in animating the environment, which is why we hired not one, but two experienced sound designers to work closely with the team and define IA!'s identity from an audio standpoint, ultimately creating sounds that complement the game's theme and art style perfectly.

In this latest Spotlight/Development entry (Spotlight: Designing Sounds for IA!), Bryan "bnuh" M. and Kolby "Kolbias" H. (IA!'s sound designers) describe their process for designing, recording and editing the sounds created for the game.
