Hi everyone, I am an amateur source mapper who has been mapping for a few months (though it is much shorter, as I gave up for a while before picking hammer up again) and I one day hope to be half as good as you guys.
I am making a citadel map and I am drawing tons of inspiration from these screenshots: http://www.garrysmod...=view&id=126802

I was wondering if you could spare me the citadel map's VMF? I am confused on how you did a lot of things on the map and I think it would be awesome to see for my self.

If you want to know how to do traps and such, the ow_entiry_ref.vmf is available on this website under the mapping section. Other maps can be decompiled with VMEX, although this should only be used for learning, not for copying.

I do hope the devs will make the source downloadable at some point, as IA! is coming. That way some community members could work on overwatch for the ones who can't play IA! for some reason.

We are planning to make the VMFs available after OW's January update. If someone wants to finish texturing/detailing some of them, that would definitely be awesome. :)

OW's January update

I didn't hear this before. Maybe for the next dev report or something. I might texture them, although it might not entirely be AAA quality like the other maps.

I could definitely take a crack at detailing some of them if you need it.

It's still here. I't mostly done, I managed to get it to compile fine by eliminating the last section (Wasn't that great anyway, made the map too long) and actually using func_detail. I didn't know those existed while making the map, so the 'project' in the superfortress was creating about a billion different visgroups. I've been meaning to get back to you with this, but never remembered.
