Keep in mind that a few of us know how the AI works and we purposefully shoot in the direction of the Combine to draw them out so you cannot gather them up thus minimizing the effectiveness of your overwhelming odds strategy.

My overwhelming odds isn't that much of an overwhelming odds, since I always get em to go in multiple directions, so they also cover rebel escape routes(if possible) I still need them to gather up around the same spot. Since being the overwatch is sort of playing an RTS, rts players will expect their troops won't go running off when some guy is shooting at walls.

Sounds good!
A stationary stance may be usefull too, force a combine to absolute not move(not take cover either), could ensure absolutely no movement from them when you are gathering them, or if you're an evil tactician you could make one of the combine stand somewhere to lure the rebels over :p
Yep, and neutral (won't take defensive positions, will fire if fired upon). So:

  • Stationary - Just stands there and does absolutely nothing
  • Neutral - Won't take defensive positions, will fire but only if fired upon first, won't follow
  • Defensive - Will find the nearest cover and take up a defensive position, will guard an area and fire if enemy is detected but won't follow them (keep guarding)
  • Offensive - Will follow the enemy attacking wherever he goes + employ strategy (aggressive)
