This topic is basically an idea dump for partial ideas for maps. Such as traps for the Overwatch, general ideas or themes for maps, sections of a certain map, or anything else you can think of. This topic can then be perused by mappers who can filter through the idea dump and adapt your concepts to their maps! Please feel free to delete your ideas from this topic if you decide to actually incorporate them into a map.
I'll start this show:
A general idea of mine was to have a map in which the Rebels are armed with nothing bet crowbars and medkits running through the C17 sewers, while the Overwatch was stuck overland trying to stop them from escaping. He could do things like flood the sewers with manhacks, drop flaming barrels into the sewers, and later-on he could send rappelling Metrocops into the sewers (to push the Rebels along, mostly so that rounds don't take too long). Overwatch gets a mini-map but cannot see where the Rebels are.
Maybe an area of a Citadel map in which the Rebels must walk narrow catwalks while the Overwatch sends pods down the overhead rails to try and push the Rebels into the abyss.
How about a map where the Rebels are being heckled through the duration by a pair of Combine Snipers? Then at the end they get grenades and have to work their way up a wide, debris-filled canal, cooperatively distracting the sniper and moving-up until someone gets into throwing range and takes them out.
(Once we get Rebel, Citizen, and Refugee NPCs) How about a classic Counter Strike style escort mission? Overwatch is trying to stop the Rebels from escorting citizens out of C17. Again, Overwatch has a minimap, but it doesn't show the Rebels.
The Combine OverZombie? He controls zombies instead of Combine soldiers.

I have a wip where the rebels get a choice at the beginning objective as the road is barracaded: They can go through the sewer by bombing the lid off or they can collect canisters to blow a door out of a house with a balcony that is above the barricade. After that they will go into the subway(which has been forgotten since overwatch times so it is pretty neglected) and go to the "citadel cliffside".

And meant once they get the citizen NPCs working, it could be a map.
I was thinking about that, but then I thought, "How?" He would have to seal-off an area of the sewers to make that make any physical sense. That could easily make it too OW-sided. Then I thought maybe the Overwatch could open sewer grates to sweep the Rebels away, or at least slow them-down. He could increase the total water level of the map, to flood lower parts of the sewers, maybe.

I had one idea, inspired by the game Canabalt, if anyone's played it. It's an attack-style map like Canals, except on City 17 rooftops, where the Rebels must escape their Overwatch Pursuers by jumping between rooftops, through windows, up and down fire escapes and so on. Overwatch forces could include collapsing buildings, manhacks, gunships and other stuff.

OH HELL YES. You'd need some way to make them quickly get from rooftop-to-rooftop, though. Or it can't possibly be as awesome as Canabalt. Stuff like the rebel walkways, maybe some hacked confiscation fields made so that the anti-gravity feature shoots into the air. Hell, maybe they found some repulsion gel smuggled from Aperture Science, somehow.
How about a map where the Rebels get airboats with pulse cannons and have a sea skirmish with combine helicopters and partially-submerged striders?
Or a map in which the Overwatch gets a small fighting force (one Combine Elite per rebel) and has to destroy something important inside a large rebel camp. Each elite would have an invisible tag on it that would not allow more Elites to be spawned until all the current Elites are dead. Rebels respawn after a certain period of time, and the Overwatch only has a certain amount of time to plant the bomb deep in resistance territory.
This would mean that the Overwatch has to sneak his soldiers past the rebels, seeing as he could not handle more than one or two rebels at any given time.

Imma got an idea for a map.
Game the map is based off
So the rebels begin in a room that leads into a maze. They must get some treasure. The overwatch must stop them by reforming the maze to trap them. Differently from the board game, the overwatch can also move the floor(there a some gaps in there).
When the rebels die from falling, there's a sound that says: "Watch the gap!"

Sounds like fun.
I've got another idea since we're on the topic of minigame maps:
You've all heard of GarryWare and TF2 Ware, right? How about a game of GarryWare where the Overwatch leads the round? We could call it: OverWare! Once a winner has been crowned, he faces-off with the Overwatch in a game of his choice.
