Ideas about Riot Shield

Hello everybody.

Sometimes, I heard players saying "Shield is OP". If you think like them, I got a small idea to nerf it : attacking with a shield on the hand is not easy, maybe we can make the attack slower. When a player attack with his Riot Shield, the Combine can try to kill him during this time. With this, the shield is less op and a players can make a choice : crowbar or Riot shield ?

New combine class idea : Riot metrocop. It's a metrocops with a stunstick and a shield. The Overwatch can switch between two position :
- Fight position : classic move.
- Defense position : The metrocop put his shield front of him, he move slower. If a rebel is close to him, he attack.
This unit will be certainly a distraction unit.

-This is a good idea, but it takes more improvement to the AI to recognize, who has got a riot shield.

-finally, more realism in the mod!!!!

About the riot metro idea:
That good to change the formation, because I love some strategy games, when changing the status of the units, but my opinion is that will be more complicated, then release a manhack...You see, the mod need modellers, to create animations, and scripts to working an NPC....so in the beginning try to change the health of that unit, later create attachments to that( shields on the head, torso, arms, nuts, etc) and after the switch....

Actually, the AI shoot, ignore if the player have a Riot shield or not. Why change this ?

Because the riot shield ( for nowadays) is more powerfull than a shotgun or an SMG...improve the AI ( or need a command for the GM) to flanking the defender, to shoot his back to realize the players to more better with some teammates then the lone wolf tactic.

I think we should fix the model for the shield we have now... it's extremely buggy, I think making it an actual weapon (with solid control, instead of the strange weedy movements it does now.) instead of what appears to be a physics model tied to the player would help fix this...

god damn I wish more people had joined the modeling contest... as opposed to the one late joiner.

It would be simpler if the Riot Metro was simply a walking shield. Maybe he could cover a 135-degree arc with his shield to make it worth not having an effective attack. For now he can use the pistol animation and the sheild can simply cover that up. He then uses a low-damage, respectable-knockback, shove instead of beating people with the stunstick.

Why just create a simply model for that unit, because I find in the SMOD the metrocops have got riot shield too...

Or I wonder to someone create a same model with the headgear and riotshields....
