H3LPER, you are COMPLETELY misunderstanding the purpose of this contest, of Overwatch, and of Source SDK mapping. It is a disgrace. This idea for a map, and for everything else you've shown, suggested, or whatever, its complete shit. You will fail if you continue to make your map like this. 2Fort after it was destroyed, when the hell did 2Fort come into the Half-Life 2 universe? Man, this isn't HL2 Deathmatch, make logical maps that actually have some sort of story, purpose, and level structure that makes sense, or your wasting your time.
I don't know how else to say it man, what your doing is stupid. If mapping is a hobby, you aren't good at it. If intelligence isn't your strong point, I can see why. If creativity isn't a major thing you think about/want to be into, don't even try.
Purpose, Intelligence, Creativity. This is what makes Source SDK mapping what it is. You CANNOT do this if you don't have those three things.
Sorry for being harsh dude, but that's the way I and everyone sees it. Ridiculous. Jgoodroad you wanna add anything?

All I read here is a bunch of bla bla insults and no actual helpful comments or feedback. If you want to call him a terrible mapper, at least help him improve by giving him some pointers about what he can do better.
On top of that, you're absolutely wrong. I personally was hoping for levels that had no logic, no story, no purpose, and wild structure. I'm not saying that all the contest maps are bad (on the contrary, I like what I see), but most of my favourite maps from Sven Co-op were completely insane (made by people that themselves are also probably a bit on the wacky side).
Here are a few examples:
http://scmapdb.com/map:tetris
http://scmapdb.com/map:toon-run
http://scmapdb.com/map:omg
http://scmapdb.com/mapper:keen
http://scmapdb.com/tag:puzzle/p/2
http://scmapdb.com/map:secretcity-4
http://scmapdb.com/map:the-void
http://scmapdb.com/map:sprayart
You definitely don't need to be an expert level designer to put some of those together, all you need to do is be creative and come up with something fun.
H3LPER: Keep up the good work. No matter what you're working on, you'll be gaining valuable experience from it, so keep at it!

A tad late to the party Andy.
and the map would still have to look decent... it would be an offical map.

I have no problem with releasing maps like those as part of the official package. We're really not joking when we say good, fun gameplay is more important to us than visuals. I'm sure you'd rather play something that's pure fun but looks awful rather than something that looks amazing but plays like crap.
Countless people have had more fun playing those kinds of maps for SC than any of the "serious" HL-themed ones that came with the mod.
