When Do You Play Overwatch?

cwook's Photo cwook 23 Oct 2010

A lot of times, I'll go on Overwatch and NO ONE is playing. Usually, after I join a server 2 or 3 more people will join me and we'll play a few rounds.
However, I think it would be nice to have a general idea of when people are online.
I usually play around 4:00 UTC/GMT time.
So when do you play Overwatch?

Whenever players are in a server. My timezone differs greatly from the majority of players as i live in the Southern Hemisphere, which can make things difficult when it comes to allocating times (it also means releases are a day late! :p ) From 4:00pm AEST until late is the most used time for me.

A large percentage of the players seem to be on at around 8 pm GMT timezone. There'll be like 2 servers with 5 people in and another few with 3 players.

What i mean is, if he wants to play Overwatch, he should hop into a server and wait. If i'm online then i'll join (depending on the circumstances).

Hi I'm new to overwatch, actually i've never actually played a proper game because i've never seen anybody on the servers since i downloaded the game a few days ago : /

I'd be able to play in the evenings, about 7-8pm GMT

I just downloaded today. I should be on around 1700 - 2200 MST (which I believe is something like 0:00 - 05:00 GMT).

hey, i am at home around 2-3 o'clock gmt+1 ( MEZ ) ; but i don't want to idle on a server and wait, so i join the overwatch-group chatroom; so if sb. wants to play just join the chatroom and ask ; i would be happy :D

so come on for a round xDD

Honestly, not too often. I usually player other games, but every once in a while. I like to play this every now and again, still a fun game. I don't know why I don't play it more often.

I play at frequently at generally random times every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.. Sometimes I play on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. again frequently but randomly.
All times in Pacific Standard Time.

I really think that if the Overwatch Development time were to use their steam group to make "Lets Play" events for Overwatch at times researched on this topic, they get the community into a bit of a rhythm until it becomes self-sustaining.

You know what, I like that idea.

Back in the days of Zombie Master, the local (Aussie) community server used to host an "OH SHIT!" night. Basically, the server operators would jump in-game every tuesday and friday evening, then they would mess with Sourcemod cvars to double zombie speed and damage. Thus, "OH SHIT!" night. It was crazy popular, with the server being maxed out most of the time.

This is something to be brought up with the devs. I'm not sure they have the time to jump in-game twice a week though.

That sounds like an awesome idea!

But the devs don't need to jump-in. I was thinking they just need to routinely say "Hey, this looks like a good time to go play Overwatch. Why not play a few rounds?" or something like that.

I think a set time would be more appropriate. That way people will always know when they can play Overwatch instead of waiting for an announcement.

Lol, the name for the community playdates is called "Let's Play". I find it a bit weird that thats what I call the videos of gameplay on the GamersLeagueUnited. Coincidence? lolz

it's used all over the Internet for gameplay videos Joker :p

If anyone hasn't already seen this thread they need to put their votes on so we can get some play sessions up and running.
