Headcrab Zombies

Seeing as this mod is inspired by Zombie Master. I think it would be a nice little addition to be able to spawn zombies in an alternative way to Combine. I don't know, maybe you can spawn zombies anywhere on the map rebels can't see relative to the amount of rebels dead. A 2 zombies to one dead rebel sounds about right. Spamming them could be prevented by making them neutral to the combine, much like they are in HL2.

They already said they would add a third party of zombies, that both the rebels and overwatch have to be careful of.

And 1 zombie to 1 dead rebel would be pointless, unless zombies were made a lot stronger.

In our official maps, zombies will be neutral enemies as Boxiii said. However, once we get to adding more customization possibilities, custom maps will be able to be set up so that even zombies could be controlled by the GM.

Overwatch: Zombie Master

And it will be glorious :D


I'll be interested to see how mappers make use of them once it's done.. You could have a combine control tower controlling the zombies/zombine which the rebels could hack, turning the zombies to attack the combine and ignore the resistance. :D

Players should slowly take dmg per second from zombie attacks and when they die they turn into the zombie that attacked them in the first place, unless they get to a health station. This will give Rebels a reason to be careful around the zombies.

It would be interesting if the Overwatch could drop Headcrab canisters, and if the headcrabs could actually zombify players. Of course, the actual player would respawn, but an NPC zombie would be created in place of where the player died.

They've already shown a working headcrab canister landing and spewing forth headcrabs. I don't know how much more it'd take to spawn a zombie where the player dies.
