Since the Resistance is the only team using sprays and as warbrand2 mentioned they can be useful in certain situations for marking things the defaults should be left in place. In most cases I've seen custom sprays are used to either exploit (placing dummy sniper targets in games like DoD) or offend. As braddollar said they add nothing to the gameplay.

I don't think we touched it yet. The setting to disable sprays has always existed, but it's been off by default. Maybe you turned it on yourself?

Either way, we've been discussing this a bit, and since the fix shouldn't be that difficult, I'm fairly sure something will be done by the next version.

Wait, nononononono. This is stupid. Why is there no "leave them as they are" option? What harm are sprays? They are just there for fun, it is not an issue. You can not say they are a problem because trolls could use them or whatever because someone with malicious intent could do 100 other things. Sprays are a totally fine and harmless concept, including custom sprays. If someone has to be an asshat with sprays, they can get kicked or whatever the same way they would for any other abusive behavior. Most server owners are fine with sprays, and if they were not then they could surely turn them off. How many that do not mind them are going to remember to turn them on though? It is unnecessary to remove them, their customization, or their default status. Keep sprays in and on please, they are fine.

We didn't remove them, they just won't display by default. So if you want to see them, just enable them in the MP Options > Advanced and you're good to go (once 1.2.0 is released).

OH okay. I thought you were disabling them serverside by default and making the server owner enable them. I still think it should be player enabled by default but that makes a lot more sense at least.
