ROLE ideas and weapon ideas for said roles.I got to many ideas wile playing as a medic.


explosives expert (demo)
ability: can use smg1 grenades, has 3 slams(non regen), and can place fuel tanks(idea bellow)
item look: a slam with a bundle of smg1 grenades strapped to it.
use: setting traps.
play look: add a fuel tank to there back

fuel tanks: this is an item that can be placed by demos that is used to take out groups of combine, zombies, or antlions. the demo can place 2 fuel tanks at a time and they regen every 30 seconds.




HACKER
ability: has a hack tool
item look: a custom emp tool with a burglar kit.
use: can hack consoles faster than other rebels but they can't fight back wile hacking.
player looks: add a burglars kit to the back of the player model.
symbol: image of alyxes emp tool



SUPPLIER
ability: gives ammo to players like rebels do to freeman in the hl2 campaign.
item look: a green smg1 ammo case with a ammo belt wrapped around it.
use: giving ammo when pinned down and unable to get to ammo
player look : the player is a basic rebel model with a ammo belt wrapped around both sides of the player.
symbol: 3 bullets next to reach other


rebel elite
ability: prioritize targets (can mark targets), binoculars.
item looks: binoculars rebel vest with a sergeant symbol on it.
use: leading the attack organizing a unorganized group in some cases.

armored
ability: has 25 none re chargeable armor
item looks: a combine vest
use: temporary armor
player looks: add a combine main vest to the players player model (body groups would work here I think)
symbol: same as normal rebel. this isn't a role but a temp armor.



mini classes aka map based ones:

VORT
ability: charge generators and doesn't use ammo
player looks: a vort
notes: players can't just pick up this role with a weapon like the others players must opt in for this role on the start of the round.
use: objective based usually just recharging generators.
full vort idea here



HAZMAT

ability: can go through gassed rooms, and toxic waist with out being hurt
item look: a folded up hazmat suit
use: allowing access to areas other wise impassable/ lowering bridges and closing valves
player looks: the player puts on a dark green hazmat suit. you can not see there face ( for sake of only needing one model)
symbol: a simpler version of this.

I got bored. and i think there is to much detail in this for something that might not end up staying in the game.



edit: added another poll so we can get some more ideas about the roles in game. (my have to re-vote to vote on which ones you want)

I think there should only be 3 classes, Hacker, Leader, and Basic Rebel.

I think more than those three would be WAY too much and it'll turn into Team Fortress 2.

we already have a defender role and a medic role. these ideas are just basic things. also I do not think the game will become like tf2 because you interchange your roles. lets say you don't want to be a medic you drop the medkit and pick up a riot shield it would work like that for all other roles. Also I do not think ever role should be used in every map i would get riot shields and medics. but some of my ideas like the hazmat suit would not fit in every map.

I think we should steer clear of adding armour and other 'special' characteristics (ie, hacking twice as fast) until the current system is improved. Personally i'd have the medic revive players faster than normal, but that's it.

If i were to suggest a roles/classes loadout similar to yours Warbrand2, it would be as follows:

NAME -- Primary Weapon, Secondary, Melee
Default/Basic Rebel -- SMG, Pistol, Crowbar
Defender -- Shotgun, Pistol, Riot Shield
Medic -- SMG, Medkit, Crowbar
Grenadier -- Shotgun, Grenades (x3), Crowbar
Ranger -- Crossbow, Pistol, Crowbar

As you can see, all roles/classes are relatively balanced. I haven't included unneeded information such as health, because lets face it; having a different weapon does not change your physical make-up. It is a simple template.

I am not suggesting changing health or what weapons they have any more. But you are right I shouldn't post any more ideas till the current ones are balance which i think they already are.

What if, when the overwatch player is selected, we can simply pushing one button, to get into the "shop" menu(Like in the Counter-Strike). In there we can choosing weapons we want, like this:
1: melee weapons: crowbar; stunstick( if will be the melee weapon contest winner, that weapon will be the third)
2: Secondary weapons: Pistol; Revolver(only limited for only one/two player, because in the HL2 campaign we can't found more ammo for that); Automated pistol(Like the Alyx Gun), but it is equipted, when get the rocket launcer(the anserw is in the next category)
3. Primary weapons: SMG1; AR2; Shotgun( one thing for that weapon: I think the shotgun with the one/two barrel function is the most effective weapon in the modification, so why do you think: it would be better to split the two barrel function? We have two new weapons: one, that shoot one barrel(it will be semi auto), and the another one, that shoot two barrel( has got 8 round,but the reload time is very slow));crossbow( it would be limited for one/two player like the .357); rocket launcher[why? because it will be balanced and more tactically :smoke: ]
4: Grenades: Grenade; SMG1 grenade; Ar2 energy ball; more rocket
5: Special Items: Riot Shield; Medpack; Hack Tool; Ammo box( give primary ammo for the players, like the Medpack)
That is my ideas for the roles system, I hope you like it:)
